Planet Single / Planeta Singli is a romantic comedy exploring the reality of dating in the 21st century, where the most popular matchmaker is the Internet. The script was based on an idea by Urszula Antoniak and the screenwriting team included: Sam Akina, Jules Jones, Mitja Okorn, Łukasz Światowiec, Michał Chaciński, Peter Pasyk and Radosław Drabik.
"I enjoy making goof entertainment, especially because Polish cinema is most recognised for its serious, tough topics. I enjoy them, but this is not my genre. I love observing relationships and show what is funny about them," the director said.
The film was produced by Radosław Drabik and Michał Chaciński through Gigant Films in coproduction with TVN.
Maciej Stuhr, Agnieszka Więdłocha, Piotr Głowacki, Weronika Książkiewicz and Tomasz Karolak are starring.
Kino Świat released the film in Poland on 5 February 2016. Planet Single sold 1,903,412 tickets to date. The film was also a box office hit in Slovenia, where it was released by Kolosej in April 2016, reaching 30,521 admissions in the first two weeks.
