Strong Domestic Opening Week for Gdynia Film Festival Winner Last Family

    WARSAW: Jan P. Matuszyński’s debut feature The Last Family had 210,000 admissions during the first week in Polish cinemas. The winner of Best Film Award at the 41st Gdynia Film Festival was released by Kino Świat on 30 September.

    The film premiered internationally in the main competition of the Locarno IFF 2016, where Andrzej Seweryn won Best Actor Award. The Polish premiere of the picture took place at the 41st Gdynia Film Festival, where the film was awarded Grand Prix Golden Lion for Best Film, Best Actress for Aleksandra Konieczna, Best Actor for Andrzej Seweryn and also received the Audience Award. In the near future, the film will be presented at Warsaw Screenings during the upcoming 12th CentEast Market and the 52nd International Film Festival in Chicago.

    The film was produced by Aurum Film in coproduction with HBO Polska and Lightcraft, with the support from the Polish Film Institute and the Mazovia Film Fund.
