GRANTS: Polish-German Film Fund Supports Three Productions

    WARSAW: The Polish-German Film Fund supported three films with a total of 240,000 EUR for project development and production.

    Three Polish-German coproductions received support during the first session of financing for 2017. The feature films The War Has Ended directed by Hagar Ben-Asher and Hauptmann directed by Robert Schwentke received respectively 40,000 EUR and 100 000 EUR for project development, while new drama from Adrian Panek entitled Wilkołak recieved 100,000 EUR for production.

    The Polish-German Film Fund was established in December of 2015 to further and develop the cooperation that was established in 2005, when the three institutions created the Polish-German Co-Development Fund. The fund can grant financing both for project development and production of low budget feature films, debuts and project with original narrative style. The applicants must be a Polish producer with a German production partner from Central Germany and the Berlin-Brandenburg region. The projects should have international distribution potential in Poland and Germany, as well as other countries. The applicant for a project development grant will be able to receive 70,000 EUR, while coproduction producers can apply for 150,000 EUR.
