United States of Love to Open in Greece

    WARSAW: Polish cinema is continuing to gain the attention of international cinema audiences. The latest film to have another international theatrical release is Tomasz Wasilewski’s drama United States of Love, awarded with Silver Bear for Best Script at 2016 Berlinale. It will premiere in Greece on 20 April 2017 distributed by Strada Films.

    United States of Love, which Wasilewski also wrote, is set right after the fall of communism in Poland and follows three women, who desperately want to change their small-town lives. The Polish/Swedish coproduction was produced by Mañana in coproduction with Telewizja Polska with production financing from the Polish Film Institute.

    The film premiered internationally at 2016 IFF in Berlin. It opened in Poland on 29 July 2016 distributed by Mañana with 43,991 admissions.

    The film gained significant international interest with distribution in Demark, Romania, UK, Holland,  Hungary and France. International sales are managed by New Europe Film Sales.
