Polish Filmmakers Association Supports Distributors

By

WARSAW: The Polish Filmmakers Association (SFP) announced the results of the first session of funding for Polish, European and classic cinema movie distribution.

SFP launched the new programme "System of support for Polish, European and cinema classic films" with a budget of 1 m PLN / 236,566 EUR planned for 2017, which will be distributed in three sessions of funding throughout the year. On 25 April 2017 the association announced the first 20 films from 12 distributors, that will receive funding as part of the programme.

The support is available to distributors of a Polish film, European film or a film that is considered to be a cinema classic as well as a non-European film. The film should be a minimum of 70 minutes. Short films can be submitted for funding as part of bigger packages that are not shorter than 70 minutes. The first edition allows the submission of films that have already had premieres.

The programme is organised with the financial support of the Polish Film Institute.
