PRODUCTION: Canal+ Shooting Second Season of Hit Series Teacher/Belfer

    WARSAW: CANAL+ commissioned a second season of the crime series Teacher / Belfer starring Maciej Stuhr. TVN is the executive producer.

    A shoot for the series launched in Warsaw on 4 April, with the crew moving to Wrocław, where it will wrap up on 8 May 2017. With this series, CANAL+ continues to create more original Polish shows, in accord with their mission statement announced in 2014. "Production of unique programmes based on original ideas and scripts is what distinguishes Canal+ from other broadcasters" said Julien Verley, former President of ITI Neovision.  

    The show follows Paweł Zawadzki (Maciej Stuhr), who is forced to take a post in one of the Warsaw private high schools, where a tragedy takes place and he is quickly entangled in a dangerous game. In the second season, the series location will move to Wrocław.

    TVN will continue as executive producer of the second season, which will be directed by Krzysztof Łukaszewicz and Maciej Bochniak. The cast includes Michalina Łabacz, Eliza Rycembel and Adrian Zaremba. The screenwriters of season 1, Jakub Żulczyk and Monika Poawlisz are joined by Wojciech Bockenheim and Bartosz Ignaciuk

    "Belfer is one of the greatest successes in our over 20 year history. The series broke all the rating records for Canal+" said Jakub Szurmiej, the Film Channel Director at nc+. "Belfer was the first production after the station's return to production of local programming. The series aired between 2 October and 27 November 2016, with premiere episodes gathering an average of 267,000 viewers and the final episode with 460,000.

    The new season of the show will premiere on Canal+ in the fall of 2017.
