CANNES: The EPC announced its new Executive Committee during 2017 Cannes IFF. Marco Chimenez was re-elected as president and Polish producer and director Dariusz Jabłoński will continue in his role of vice president.

The European Producers Club (EPC) is a leading European production organisation consisting of 100 of the most active film and TV producers from over 20 European countries. The members of the executive committee include German producer Johannes Rexin, Nina Laurio of Finland and Alvaro Longora of Spain.

"The trust of the leading European film producers is not only an honor for me, but also a confirmation that Poland is an important partner in film and television production in Europe," Jabłoński commented in Cannes.

Jabłoński is CEO of Apple Film Production, established 26 years ago as one of the first independent production companies in Poland. During this year's edition of Cannes he is presenting The Trial: The State of Russia vs Oleg Sentsov directed by Aksold Kurov, which was showcased in the Berlinale Special 2017. His more recent productions include Under the Electric Clouds, a Russian/Ukrainian/Polish film directed by Alexei German Jr, a Russian director of the younger generation. The film was awarded the Silver Bear at Berlinale 2015; the Dutch/Polish co-production Nude Area by Urszula Antoniak, a director regarded as one of the most original personalities of contemporary European cinema; and Karski and the Lords of Humanity, an enthusiastically received documentary by Emmy Award winner Sławomir Grunberg.

Apple Film is also the producer of top-shelf TV dramas, such as the Władysław Pasikowski-directed Cops, and coproductions The Passing Bells for BBC and Polish Television and Spies In Warsaw, also a Polish/British coproduction with BBC.
