By

WARSAW: Indian TV series Bose. Dead / Alive directed by Pulkit and starring Rajkummar Rao was shot in the Malopolska province with Film Polska Productions servicing. The Polish locations stood in for Germany, Austria and Manchuria.

Bose. Dead / Alive focuses on the life of Subhas Chandra Bose, one of the leaders of the independence movement in the first half of the 20th century.

The series is produced by ALT Balaji, a SVOD platform specialised in creating and distributing content for Indian audiences. Krzysztof Sołek from Film Polska Productions was line producer. Film Polska Productions has already collaborated with Indian partners on numerous productions such as Kick, Shaandaar and Fitoor.

The Polish crew included more than 50 people and over 200 Polish extras were used. The seven shooting days took place in Krakow, Tarnow, Brzesko and Chabowka. In Malopolska the crew recreated the European episode of Bose’s life, when in the 1930s he went to Europe in search of potential allies.

The premiere is planned on the ALT Balaji platform at the end of October 2017.
