WARSAW: Polish director Bartosz Prokopowicz is working on his second film, a romantic comedy Fake fiancée / Narzeczony na niby. Agnieszka Odorowicz, Andrzej Papis and Maciej Sowiński are producing.
Fake fiancée / Narzeczony na niby is a story of Karna, a girl who experiences a series of failures and decides to take matters into her own hands by creating a better version of her reality. Her big and small lies get out of control, and all of the film's protagonists need to bring some order to their lives and their feelings. "I hope that the viewers will watch our romantic comedy and feel a bit different -- better, uplifted and of course happier. That they will see themselves within these characters, who are very close to real life, working real jobs and functioning in different family structures." Prokopowicz said. The cast of popular actors includes Piotr Stramowski, Julia Kamińska and Piotr Adamczyk. The script was written by Katarzyna Sarnowska and Katarzyna Priwieziencew. The film, was shot in July 2017, produced by TFP in coproduction with Telewizja Polsat and Cyfrowy Polsat. The final budget has not been announced yet.
Odorowicz joined the Board of the Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat in April 2016, specifically to lead the company’s involvement in local film production. In May 2016, Cyfrowy Polsat launched the special programme Cyfrowa Strefa Twórców (eng. Digital Creator's Sphere) designed to seek out new and interesting projects.
"We want to create a platform for filmmakers to showcase their ideas and interesting scripts. As Polsat Group we have significant possibilities to reach millions of viewers. Thanks to joint actions, we are providing the producers with a unique possibility to get production financing and professional support in promotion and distribution of their film," Odorowicz said.
