WARSAW: Polish public broadcaster TVP signed a preliminary contract with Intrigue Entertainment allowing the US company to adapt its original Polish series format The Artists for the US market.

The contract was signed in Cannes during MIPCOM 2017. Intrigue Entertainment plans to produce a pilot of the show and present it to American broadcasters. "Our productions are very popular abroad, especially fiction series. This agreement is proof that it is worth developing new productions as formats that could be sold to other markets," Maciej Stanecki, TVP Board member told FNE.

The Artists is an original series produced by TVP and co-financed by the National Audiovisual Institute, directed and written by Monika Strzępka. The show was created to celebrate 250 years of public theater in Poland and it follows a troupe of artists after the director of their company kills himself in mysterious circumstances.
