GDYNIA: Marek Lechki’s drama Interior screened in the main competition of the 44th Gdynia Film Festival, running from 16 to 21 September 2019.

Interior follows 35-year-old Marek, who stops believing that life has any purpose. He works from dawn to dusk to pay off his mortgage and he wants to take revenge on his dishonest employer by taking away his car. Marek risks everything and sets out on a desperate journey without a plan. All around the country there are preparations going on before a certain anniversary. Magda, a 35-year-old employee of the City Hall, co-organises the events. Very devoted to the cause at the beginning, with time she starts noticing the hypocrisy of the people around her. A coincidence will make their paths cross.

“This world is a fiction, according to a graffiti that appears on a wall in the city portrayed in Interior. The main characters of our film experience this fiction on many levels. Life in a world burdened with self-interest forces them to face a dilemma: face the fiction or fight it?”, director Marek Lechki told FNE.

The film was produced by Telemark in coproduction with Silesia Film, the Lower Silesia Film Centre, Heliograf, Monternia, The Out of Frame, Kineskop. The project was supported by the Polish Film Institute.

The film was shot in 2019 with a budget of 850,000 EUR.

The world sales are still open and the date of Polish premiere has not been announced yet.
