Foundation for Promotion of Polish Film, the distributor of Splinters call the film a comedy-drama of three young people living in the region of Silesia and "the need for love and the continuous search for it."
The movie had a budget of 3.2 million zlotys and was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute (a 1 million zloty subsidy). It is produced by Akson Studio in cooperation with TVP Film Agency and the PFI. Producer Michał Kwiecinski's impressive credits include Katyn and The Revenge by Andrzej Wajda, Ode to Joy by Anna Kazejak-Dawid, Maciej Migas and Jan Komasa, and is now working on the production of Wajda's Tatarak.
Director Maciej Pieprzyca made his debut with Inferno created for the TV cycle "Poland 2000." The film won awards at festivals in Houston, Avance and Cierlick. At the Gdynia festival two years ago Pieprzyca presented Barborka, made for the TV cycle "Polish Holidays." He TV directing credits range from soap opera to police drama.
A cinema release date has not been set.
