Regula's credits include numerous TV productions and commercials. He was also the assistant director for Angelus by Lech Majewski. In 2001 he won the 3^rd prize in the Polish edition of the Hartley-Merrill International Screenwriting Contest for his screenplay Krasnal (The Gnome). His first feature film Los Chłopacos was inspired by John Schlesinger's Midnight Cowboy.

Road to Paradise is produced by Frederico Film in cooperation with The Documentary and Feature Films Studio. The budget was 1.6 million zlotys, with 1 million subsidized by the Polish Film Institute. The film was also co-financed by the Lower Silesian Province Marshal Office.

The cast includes popular TV actors Przemyslaw Sadowski, Aleksandra Wozniak, Krzysztof Stelmaszczyk, as well as an outstanding actor Krzysztof Globisz. The shooting took place between October 15 and November 30, 2007, in Wlen near Jelenia Gora nad Mrzezyno. The film will be distributed by Vacat, a new company on the Polish market.
