Shooting begins on Urbanski debut

    Artur Urbanski, double award winner at the 2002 Venice Tv Fest, begins shooting his first big screen feature Listening to Jo, on October 10.
    The title character is a young woman from the province who can't manage living in the big city and enters the world of prostitution. As she grows more deeply involved, the only way to escape seems to be marriage with a strange customer.

    Urbanski, who also wrote the script, is the author of several short films. His feature-length TV debut filmis long debut Belissima won both the Best Film and Best Directing category at the 2002 TV Venice Fest. Filming is scheduled to last though the end of the month in Warsaw.

    The movie is produced by MedionArt Studio (www.medionart.pl) with the support of the Polish Television Film Agency (www.tvp.pl) and the Polish Film ( Institute (www.pisf.pl). The budget is PLN 2.6 million (735,000 Euros) with PLN 1million production financing from PISF.
