The average Pole spent two hours and 47 minutes before a TV screen daily in July, according to a new survey by the TNS OBOP agency (www.tns-global.pl). That represents a gain of seven minutes from July, mainly due to poor weather in Poland

The most favored broadcaster was public television TVP1, with a 22.8% audience share, according to the survey which was published Aug. 7. That was followed by private television Polsat with 17.4%, which barely edited out public channel TVP2 with 17%. Private broadcaster TVN was fourth with 13.3%.

Among the specialty stations, the news channel TVN24 led with 3.5% of viewers, trailed by MiniMini with 1.0%. They were followed by Jetix with 0.7%, Polsat sport with 0.7% and Viva Polska with 0.6%.
