Polish short documentary nominated for EFA awards

By FNE Staff

European Film Academy (EFA) has nominated Poste Restante by Polish director Marcel Łoziński as the Krakow Short Film Nominee for the European Film Awards 2009.

The film is now nominated for the European Film Academy (www.europeanfilmacademy.org) Short Film 2009. The film was selected by the festival's international jury.

The film looks at the topic of letters whose addresses are impossible to find, which end up at the Undeliverable Letters Department of the Post Office in Koluszki. There are around a million of them in Poland each year, among them those addressed to God. The film tells the story of one of those letters.

The short film initiative is organised by the European Film Academy in co-operation with a series of film festivals throughout Europe. At each of these festivals, an independent jury presents one of the European short films in competition with a nomination in the short film category of the European Film Awards.

The overall winner will be presented during the Awards Ceremony on December 12, in Germany's Ruhr Metropolis.
