Production: Babtism goes into post-production

    Director Marcin Wrona has finished shooting on Baptism, his thriller based on a true story from the Polish underworld.

    Babtism (Chrzest) is a story of a criminal who betrays his accomplishes and has to Warsaw, where he starts a new business and a family. He invites his brother to the babtism of his child in order to persuade him to fill as father and husband, when revenge comes.

    This is a second feature from Wrona, who debuted with My Blood.

    The shoot started on July 20, 2009, and after 23 of shooting days the production was wrapped up with an explosion scene filmed in the military unit in Kazuń. Once again, Wrona sets his film in famous Warsaw locations as well as parts of Piastów.

    The Polish company ODEON Film Studio (www.odeon.com.p) is debuting as a producer with this title. The total budget of the film is PLN 2 million (€514,000), half of it financed by the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl). Babtism is co-produced by Marcin Wrona, No Problem - Krzysztof Krawczyk (www.noproblem.com.pl) and the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Directing (www.wajdaschool.pl).

    The producer told FNE that the end of post-production is planned to time the movie's premiere in the next year's edition of the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, which will take place probably in May 2010.
