By Iulia Blaga

Andrei Cohn is in development with his first feature, At My Father's Home, "the story of a young man put to a test by his girlfriend, who goes back to his home village where he meets his best friend and his highschool sweetheart. Everybody thinks he is somebody, but he is not," the producer Giuliano Doman told FNE.

At My Father's Home/Acasă la tata has an estimated budget of 858,000 euro (3,690,000 RON). The film is produced by Tandem Film Production (www.tandemfilm.com), but Doman told FNE that co-producers are needed. The project won a grant of 180,000 euro from the National Centre for Cinema (www.cncinema.abt.ro).

The script is written by the actor and playwright Mimi Brănescu (Tuesday, After Christmas, Boogie). The movie will be shot on location entirely outside Bucharest. Alexandru Sterian (Love Sick, Tales from the Golden Age) is the DOP. Shooting are set for May 2011, with the Romanian premiere planned for 2012.

Cohn's short fiction film, Before and After 12/22/1989 (Înainte şi după 22/12/1989) was shortlisted at the Gopo Gala (www.premiilegopo.ro) in 2010. The director studied painting and built a career in advertising.
