Poland’s Alvernia Coproduces Heckerling Film

    WARSAW: Alvernia Production and Alvernia Studios (www.alverniastudios.com), based in Krakow, are teaming up as coproducers on US indie feature Vamps directed by Amy Heckerling. The investment is one of the largest into American films by the Polish studio.

    Alvernia Production's Stanislaw Tyczynski is executive producing, and Marek Gabryjelski and Anna Rozalska are coproducing the film.

    Alvernia Studios is responsible for color correction, score recording and mixing and final mix, as well as visual effects in post production.

    "Alvernia`s VFX department is responsible for all (about 150) the visual effects shots for Vamps," said VFX supervisor Mikołaj Valencia. Alvernia will work on the project for five months.

    The film, about young female vampires living in New York who have to choose between love and immortality, stars Sigourney Weaver, Alicia Silverstone, Krysten Ritter, Richard Lewis, Wallace Shawn, Justin Kirk, Malcolm Mc Dowell, Dan Stevens, Todd Barry and Kristen Johnston.

    Vamps is produced by Red Hour Films and Lucky Monkey Pictures. Foreign sales are handled by Parlay Films.
