Polish Directors and Producers Found Association

By FNE Staff
Sixteen Polish filmmakers have founded a new Polish Film Directors and Producers Association (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

In a statement, the association said: "In a group of over a dozen people we came to a conclusion that for years in Polish film there's been a number of people who just do their job: on their own, at their own responsibility, just make movies. ... There are similar associations in Europe, e.g. L'ARP (Auteurs Réalisateurs Producteurs) in France. According to the associaton's rules one can become a member only by invitation of the present members ... We are convinced that Polish cinema needs a strong creative impulse and artistic courage, rewarding the originality, ensuring the complete freedom of activity and real governmental support for companies like ours."

The members of Association are: Jacek Bławut, Andrzej Fidyk, Dariusz Jabłoński, Andrzej Jakimowski, Dorota Kędzierzawska, Jan Kidawa-Błoński, Natalia Koryncka-Gruz, Marek Lechki, Paweł Łoziński, Artur Reinhart, Wiesław Saniewski, Wojciech Staroń, Jarosław Szoda, Tomasz Wiszniewski, Leszek Wosiewicz, Janusz Zaorski.

The presidency is rotational, currently being held by Dariusz Jablonski.
