Polish classics available for download

By

The Polish Film School says it is making available some Polish film classics through the use of new technologies.

At a news conference Thursday attended by legendary director Andrzej Wajda, officials announced the films can be downloaded from www.polskaszkolafilmowa.pl by Internet and even SMS, accompanied by automatic money transfer.

Among the titles initially available are Wajda's "Ashes and Diamonds" and "Canal," the film about the Warsaw Uprising for which he first won international recognition more than 50 years ago.

Also available at the site are new analytical materials about various films written by prominent film critics.

The goal of the new service is to promote news about films and to offer access to polish film classics by means of new technologies.
