By Katarzyna Grynienko

WARSAW: The second channel of the Polish Public Television (TVP), TVP2, has commissioned a third season of the comedy series License to Parent produced by ATM Grupa.

Shooting for the new season of the show began on 16 January 2011 in Wrocław. Production will continue through the end of February. Licencja na wychowanie (License to Parent) is an original Polish script about two families with different parenting styles. The Barański family has a traditional model, with a stay-at-home mom and a father who takes care of the money. The Leszczyński marriage is the total opposite, with a modern working mother and a father who takes care of the children while trying to figure out what he wants to do with his life. ATM Grupa (www.atmgrupa.pl) will produce 45 new episodes of the show.

The cast includes popular Polish actors Joanna Fraszyńska, Dariusz Wiktorowicz, Joanna Orleańska and Cezary Kosiński. The show is directed by Jakub Miszczak.

ATM Grupa is a Polish company working on several popular Polish television series. The first season of the show began airing on TVP 2 (www.tvp.pl) in March 2010 and the second in December 2010. The decision of TVP 2 to continue with the show surprised Polish media watchers, since the show did not gain good viewership results. However, it has been critically acclaimed as one of the best written local productions on Polish television in 2010.

The series is also a part of TVP efforts to modernize the station and increase its internet presence. The production of the show will be documented on a special website www.licencja.tivi.pl, where the viewers will be able to see the "making of" videos as well as fictional weblogs of the young characters on the show.
