Polish Advertising Income Rises in 2010

    The Polish advertising market registered an unexpected growth of 4.5% in 2010, with over 7.3 billion PLN spent on ads. Internet and cinema advertising had the best results.

    The online market was the biggest growth sector, with internet advertising increased 23.2%, to over 1 billion PLN in 2010. The Polish cinema advertising had also noted an increase of 7.9%, making the market now worth 100 million PLN.

    Thematic channels, which were widely introduced to the television market last year, brought significant growth of 7.2% in advertising income. The broadcasting branch now represents 52.3 % of the total advertising market in Poland. Polish radio also noted a good results, growing by 7 million PLN, to 529 million PLN in income in2010.

    Advertising revenue for 2010 reflected an overall drop in publications and print advertising. Daily newspapers, monthly magazines and periodicals as well as outdoor advertising had all noted lower results.
