Kino Polska Launches Music Channel

    Kino Polska has announced the upcoming launch of Kino Polska Muzyka, a channel devoted to Polish music. Musical films, documentaries, and animation are among the programmes that the new station will broadcast.

    In a statement, Joanna Rożen-Wojciechowska, Programming Director of Telewizja Kino Polska, said, "We have a vast record archive, we look for hits from our parents' and grandparents' youth."

    The programming line-up includes film biographies about musicians and Polish stars; documentaries about the creation of popular records, performances and concert tours; series of movies devoted to music; and Polish animated films with strong musical scores.The programme will also include more traditional music videos for younger audiences.

    Poland's proud history of outstanding film composers will also be on display, with the works of acclaimed composers including Wojciech Kilar, Andrzej Kurylewicz, Michał Lorenc and Zbigniew Preisner.
