FESTIVALS: Polish-Norwegian Co-production Forum at ERA New Horizons

By Katarzyna Grynienko
ERA New Horizons IFF (www.enh.pl) will host a meeting of Polish and Norwegian film professionals on 26-28 July 2011 in Wroclav. The forum is a joint initiative of the festival and the Norwegian Film Institute (www.nfi.no) realized as part of the Norway Expanded project.

The main goal of the meeting is to strengthen cooperation between film professionals from both countries. The frame work of the forum will be individual pitching sessions of film projects from film producers as well discussion panels devoted to case studies and issues of international co-production. The organizers want to create a platform for Polish and Norwegian producers and filmmakers to network as well as find partners in co-production, distribution and film sales.

The forum is directed toward producers with projects in all stages of development (idea, script, fundraising, closing the budget). Film professionals who are interested in taking part in the forum should submit their applications before 15 April 2011 to This email address is being protected from spambots. The application must include the title of the project, information about the director, planned budget, the project's stage of development, time frame of the production, information about the potential funding sources as well as on what the applicant hopes to achieve by taking part in the meeting. Polish-Norwegian projects with active producers and co-producers from both countries will have priority in the selection.

The Norway Expanded project will be one of the main events in the program of the 11th ERA New Horizons International Film Festival. A multi-disciplinary focus on Norwegian culture will include a presentation of Norwegian cinema, music, theater and art. Apart from educating the Polish audience about Norwegian culture, the project is also a platform for strengthening and expanding co-operation between film industries of both countries during meetings at industry events and workshops.
