FNE at Cannes IFF 2011: TVP reports strong interest from buyers in Cannes

    CANNES: Polish pubcaster TVP reported a number of deals and festival invitations during the Cannes IFF film market this year.

    Venice directed by Jan Jakub Kolski received proposals from Australian distributors to distribute the film in Australia and New Zealand after TVP signed a memo deal on submitting the film to the Melbourne Film Festival.

    Made in Poland directed by Przemyslaw Wojcieszek, Flying Pigs directed by Anna Kazejak and Joanna directed by Feliks Falk was sold for the territories of Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary to the new pay TV channel to be launched in the region by Ivan Hronec, CEO of Film Europe Media Company.

    TVP sold the Saga of the Ancient Forest, a TV series produced by TVP about wildlife in Eastern Poland, to the Italian distributor A Pictures.

    Joanna also has been invited to the main competition of the Moscow IFF.
