The film was shot on location in Łódź and the surrounding region in June and July 2010. The production company Opus Film told FNE that the budget of the picture was 4,465,000 PLN (EUR 1.1 million) with 3 million PLN in financing from the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl), 300,000 from the Łódź Film Commission (www.lodzfilmcommission.pl) and 30,000 PLN from Euro Media Plus.
{mosimage}Zgliński is a Polish film director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer, film and sound editor. He has also been a film score composer for short films, and a former guitarist and bass player in several rock music formations. Born 1968 in Warsaw, he lived in Switzerland from 1978 to 1992. He studied at the directing departament at the Polish National Academy for Film Television and Theatre (PWSFTViT) in Lodz under Krzysztof Kieślowski, and he received the Prize of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for his film Before Dusk (1997).
Zglinski cowrote the script with Janusz Marganski. The lead role of the older brother is played by Robert Więckiewicz, winner of the Polish Film Award Polish Eagles (www.pnf.pl) for the Best Actor 2011 for his performance in Little Rose. The cast includes Łukasz Simlat as the younger brother and popular Polish actors Marian Dziędziel, Gabriela Muskała, Anna Tomaszewska and Karolina Kominek.
The producer is planning to distribute the film in Poland and abroad.
