Cartoon Forum Announces Selected Projects

By FNE Staff

The northern Polish port city of Sopot hosts the 2011 edition of Cartoon Forum, with 66 projects selected for pitching. Poland figures prominently on the list, along with animated series projects from Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, and Czech Republic.

The 22nd annual pitching forum takes place 13-16 September 2011. Some 700 animation producers, broadcasters, and funders are expected. Investment in the selected TV series is up 30% this year, to 214.5 million euros, and volume of production is up 25%, to 467 hours of animation. Projects from 19 countries will be introduced, with a high concentration on animation aimed at the 6-9 year old age group.

This is the second time Cartoon Forum is hosted in a new EU country. Last year Cartoon Forum was held in Hungary.
