Baltic Lotte Heads to Berlinale

    {mosimage}Lotte ja kuukivi saladus (Lotte and the Moonstone Secret) a coproduction from Estonia and Latvia, directed by Janno Põldma and Heiki Ernits, is one of 14 films selected to screen in the Generation section of the 62nd Berlinale, 9-19 February 2012.

    The animated children's film is a follow-up to the popular 2007 film Leiutajateküla Lotte/Lotte from Gadgetville). The story features a magical moonstone that lure Lotte, the great inventor's daughter, away on a fantastic road trip. The film will have its international premiere in Berlin.

    Lotte and the Moonstone Secret is co-production between Eesti Joonisfilm (www.joonisfilm.ee, Kalev Tamm, Riina Sildos) of Estonia and Rija Films (Vilnis Kalnaellis) of Latvia. The 2.9 million euro film had one of the best domestic opening weekend in the past ten years in Estonia.
