FNE at Cannes FF 2013: Cannes Prize Winners

By

CANNES: Blue is the Warmest Colour directed by Abdellatif Kechiche walked away with the Palme D’Or at one of the coldest and wettest Cannes Festivals on record. The film also received the presitigous FIPRESCI award of the international federation of critics.

The latest offering from the Coen brothers Inside Llewyn Davis scored the Grand Prix despite being described by most critics as not their best work.

Films from the Central and Eastern European region were notable for their absence from the programme this year with few films competing. In the Cinefondation section In Acvariu (In the Fishbowl) directed by Tudor Cristian Jurgui from Romania and

Pandas, a 12 minute animated shortdirected by Matus Vizar from the Czech Republic and Slovakia managed to score the third prize which they shared Ex-Aequo.
