FNE at Venice IFF 2013: Slovenia scores twice in Venice

    VENICE: The 70 edition of the Venice International Film Festival has announced its programme lineup and Slovenia has scored two hits in the International Critics Week programme.

    Slovenian director Rok Bicek’s Class Enemy produced by Triglav Film about a German teacher in Slovenia who encounters culture differences and is eventually accused of being responsible for the suicide of one of the students will screen in competition in the seven debut films selected to screen in the selection. Slovenia scores again as a coproducer of Zoran, My Nephew The Idiot directed by Italian director Matteo Oleotto. The film is coproduced by Slovenian production outfit Staragara

    In celebration of the 7 edition the festival has also created the special project, Venezia 70 – Future Reloaded inviting 70 movie directors from all over the world have been invited to make a short film lasting between 60 and 90 seconds. All the shorts will be given a first public screening at the Lido during the 70th Venice Film Festival.
