FNE at EFP Westwind 2013: Intramovies tests the Russian market with screening of Polish film Life Feels Good

    MOSCOW: The Italian sales agents Intramovies were in Moscow to rep the Polish film Life Feels Good directed by Maciej Pieprzyca and the black comedy In the Name of the Son directed by Vincent Lannoo (Belgium, France)

    The film screened as part of the EFP Westwind project that has brought a group of 11 European films to Moscow along with their sales agents to meet up with Russian distributors and buyers.

    Life Feels Good is based on a true story about a man who had cerebral palsy and was wrongly diagnosed as retarded because he could not communicate with the outside world. The film is produced by Tramway Film Studio in coproduction with Telewizja Polska and Monternia.pl and backed by the Polish Film Institute and the Silesia Film Institute.

    Intramovies has a long relationship with Russian distributors such as CinemaPrestige and Paradise group.

    Federica Mei of Intramovies says that till now their main business in Russia has been the sales of classic Italian film classics films from directors like Fellini, Visconti and Bertolucci but they hope Westwind will help them to open up the Russian market for contemporary European arthouse fare.

    Federica Mei of Intramovies told FNE’s Moscow correspondent Nina Boyarshinova: “Our company is specialized in Italian movies and especially arthouse movies although we do also have a number of titles from CEE. Last year we decided to also work with European films and Latin America films.”
