Beta Cinema Picks Up Ana, Mon Amour, Spoor and A Prominent Patient

    BERLIN: Munich-based Beta Cinema picked up Ana, mon amour by Călin Peter Netzer, Spoor / Pokot by Agnieszka Holland and A Prominent Patient / Masaryk by Julius Ševcík, and will represent them during the Berlinale (9-19 February 2017).

    Ana, mon amour and Spoor will compete for the Golden Bear, while A Prominent Patient will screen in Berlinale Special.          

    The intimate relationship drama Ana, mon amour was produced by Parada Film in coproduction with augenschein Filmproduktion and Sophie Dulac Productions. The film is an adaptation of the bestseller Luminița, mon amour by Romanian writer Cezar Paul-Bădescu.

    Spoor / Pokot is a crime thriller adapting Olga Tokarczuk’s bestselling novel Drive Your Plough Over the Bones of the Dead. The film was produced by Poland’s TOR Film Production in coproduction with Heimatfilm GmbH (Germany), Chimney Group (Sweden) and nutprodukce (Czech Republic) and nutprodukcia (Slovak Republic).

    A Prominent Patient / Masaryk is a Czech/Slovak coproduction produced by In Film in coproduction with the Czech Television, Radio and Television Slovakia. The film is a historical drama set in 1939.
