UK sales agent has acquired world rights for Czech Oscar foreign language entry Protector and will screen the film at the European Film Market in Berlin.

The film, directed by Marek Najbrt, blends fact and fiction in a WWII story of a reporter who must face compromises to protect his Jewish wife.

"Apart from maintaining a riveting story from start to finish, Protektor is distinguished by the fresh directorial talent of Marek Najbrt that is utterly unique and compelling," said High Point's Carey Fitzgerald.

Protector won best feature film at the Denver film festival.
