FNE at Cannes IFF 2010: M-Appeal Picks Up Tilt and Hello! How Are You?

    CANNES: M-Appeal (http://www.m-appeal.com) has picked up world sales rights for Bulgarian title Tilt directed by Viktor Chouchkov Jr and Hello! How Are You? directed by Romanian director Alexandru Maftei for world sales just before Cannes. Tilt is a Bulgarian (Chuchkov Brothers Ltd) German (Ostlicht Filmproduktion) coproduction set in the turbulent years of the Bulgarian transition from communism to a pro-Western democracy. Chouchkov sets a troubled ove story against this background of change and upheaval.

    M-Appeal's Anne Wiedlack told FNE: "After the huge success of Stephan Komandarev's The World is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner which was short-listed for the Foreign Oscar and is still winning prizes all around the world we expect a lot of interest in Bulgarian films."

    Hello! How Are You (see FNE profile 8 October 2009) is a Romanian, Spanish Italian coproduction that mixes love and the internet. Romanian films have been had a major successes in Cannes for the past five years and any new title by a Romanian director is sure to attract attention.
