Romania’s Prima upgrades with Israeli game show

By

Isreali company Armoza Formats has sold Romania's Prima TV on the second season of its game show formula Upgrade, which will also be a daily fixture on TV screens in Norway when a 48-episode season airs there this winter on channel TV2, Norway's largest commercial broadcaster.

The second season of Upgrade, in which contestants can win makeovers of items in their homes by answering trivia questions, premiered Sept 6 on Romania's Prima TV, a member of the Proseiben group. Season 1 aired in spring and has become a success story for the channel.

Norway's TV2 has commissioned a full season of daily Upgrade episodes to be produced by partner Strix, also the rights-holder to Armoza's show in Sweden and Denmark.

The show formula, one of Armoza's most successful, is the subject of separate deals in Georgia, Turkey, Russia, Canada and the United States, with the latest deals recently inked in France with production house A Prime Group and with a New Zealand production company.
