EAVE closes 2010 with Belgrade workshop

    The third and final 2010 EAVE (www.eave.org) training session for European producers is taking place 18-25 in Belgrade. All 50 participants, nearly one-third of them from CEE territories, will have one-on-one meetings with experts and decision makers. The workshop is also offering free admission to its Mini-EAVE programme for Serbian film professionals.

    Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, and Croatia have projects in the stage of full development, which are currently seeking financing. They are:

    Forbidden Language (Hungary), producer Dalma Hidasi for Extreme Film; a 1.9 million euro co-poduction with Poland and Germany planned for release in 2013. "A spiritual drama about a fateful encounter between a prison guard and a refugee girl who understands the language of angels."

    Wolf (Romania), producer Marcian Lazar for Strada Film; a 1.01 million euro coproduction with Germany. "In this surrealist tale, a young boy's dearest wish is realized when his absent father is quite literally reborn and joins the family once again."

    Cyborgia (Czech Republic), producer Tess Murray for ENIAC Digital Cinema; a 245,000 euro creative documentary in coproduction with UK and Germany planned for June 2012 delivery. "A true story of th triumph of one girl's will over adversity with the help of her bloved dog."

    Lost Bomber (Croatia), producer Natasa Petrovic for Workhouse; a 200,000 euro French coproduction with an early 2012 release. "Tulsamerican, a famous WWII bomber, ended its days of glory at the bottom of the Adriatic sea. 66 years after its disappearance, this summer our underwater search team rediscovered the airplane. This is its story."
