Jolie shooting Bosnia in Budapest

By Zsolt Gyenge

BUDAPEST: American superstar Angelina Jolie is shooting her directorial debut in Budapest under the working title Untitled Bosnian War Love Story. The film which is based on her own script and is also produced by Jolie tells the love story of a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman during the war in Bosnia.

Jolie is using the streets and apartment houses of the old, unrenovated downtown of Budapest as the setting of some war scenes. The shooting has been followed with huge media attention.

After finishing the outdoor scenes the shooting will continue in the Raleigh Studio (www.raleighstudios.com/index_budapest.aspx) based in Rákospalota (near Budapest). The studio is also the Hungarian servicing company of the production. The crew will move to Bosnia for the next phase. The Bosnian Ministry of Culture, which had revoked all permits for the shootings, saying that the story of the film was unacceptable for the victims of the war, recently reversed its position and gave the film clearance to film there.
