Fox Sport International launches in Central Europe

    Fox Sport International announced it launched a new all-sports channel in Central Europe on May 5.

    Fox Sports will broadcast seven days per week via Eutelsat's Hotbird satellite each evening from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Central European time. The channel is specifically targeted for and will reach viewers in Russia, Romania, Turkey, Hungary, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The schedule features a daily sports news show, the National Sports Report, and highlights of international soccer, motor sports and golf.

    The new Fox Sports channel is being marketed and distributed by Fox Kids Europe. Fox Kids launched in Central and Eastern Europe on April 1, 1999 and currently reaches more than 2.7 million homes in 15 countries, including Romania, Russia, Bulgaria and the Czech and Slovak republics.
