Cinema City expands in Romania

    Cinema City announced the opening of its 12th multiplex in Romania on 15 December in the city of Turgu Mures. Cinema City now has a total of 114 screens in Romania.

    The cinema has 8 halls with 1,465 seats. The cinema is 100% digital with capability for 3D projection.

    Cinema City International (www.cinemacity.nl) is the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. The Company operates 96 multiplexes with 906 screens, in 7 countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Israel). There are 34 multiplexes currently under development, which will offer over 350 new screens. In addition, Cinema City is actively involved in cinema-related advertising and film distribution.

    In the first nine months of 2011 Cinema City sold 26.0 million tickets in seven countries, a rise of 12.5% year on year.Romanian operations generated revenues of EUR 15.9 million (+19.6% year on year), some 8% of total Company revenues. In Romania, Cinema City sold 2.7 million tickets in the first nine months of 2011 (+19.5% year on year).

    The next Cinema City opening in Romania is scheduled for 2012 in the city of Constanza.
