Bollywood and Al Jazeera to Launch in Romania

    BUCHAREST: Romania will see the arrival of Indian and Arab channels, as well as the closure of another channel.

    UPC (www.upc.ro) is expanding its portfolio with a package called Bollywood, including Bollywood TV, Bollywood Classic and Bollyshow.

    It will air 3,000 hours annually of movies, series and entertainment shows. Bollywood package is produced by ISG TV S.R.L., and it is already aired in the Middle East, Africa and Canada. The English language channel Al Jazeera (www.aljazeera.com) is also entering Romania and will be available through the communication company Ines Group (www.ines.ro).

    National Audiovisual Council of Romania (www.cna.ro) is withdrawing the licence from Party TV, which started airing in 2007. The channel excedeed the 90 day break limit.
