Mungiu's Beyond the Hills Sold in 20 Territories

    {mosimage}CANNES: Christian Mungiu's Cannes competition film Beyond the Hills/După dealuri has been sold to more than 20 territories including Germany, France, Spain, UK, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, Latin American territories and most European countries.

    The film was acquired by Sundance Selects (www.sundanceselects.com) during the Berlinale (www.berlinale.de) to be distributed in North America. In the U.K. it will be distributed by Artificial Eye (www.artificial-eye.com), in Spain by Alta Classic (www.altafilms.com), in Italy by Bim (www.bimfilm.com), in Germany by Wild Bunch Germany (www.wildbunch-germany.de) and in Australia by Madman (www.madman.com.au). Wild Bunch (www.wildbunch.biz) is handling the international sales.

    Mungiu produced the film through his company Mobra Films (www.mobrafilms.ro), in coproduction with Why Not Production (www.whynotproductions.fr), Wild Bunch (www.wildbunch.biz), Les Films du Fleuve (www.lesfilmsdufleuve.be), France 3 Cinéma (www.france3.fr) and Mandragora Movies Romania. Beyond the Hills/După dealuri is competing for Palm d'Or and had its world premiere in Cannes on 19 May 2012.
