“It will be very different from my previous films. It will deal with the psychological dilemma of a crime witness,” Muntean told FNE. Un etaj mai jos / One Floor Below doesn’t have any funding yet, but the producers will apply for a grant at the next round of the National Centre for Cinema (www.cncinema.abt.ro). Muntean also told FNE that several coproducers have already expressed interest in the project, but no deal has been signed. There are also discussions regarding a sales agent. The budget is should be in the neighborhood of 1m EUR.
Shooting is set for 2013. “It is highly expected that we will shoot in 2013, but when exactly is hard to say at this point because it depends on the Romanian CNC and on the other grants”, says Muntean.
One Floor Below will participate in the 14th edition of the East-West coproduction market Connecting Cottbus (www.connecting-cottbus.de), 8-9 November 2012.
