Written by Săvescu and Oana Ioachim, America, Here We Come (America, venim!) is a comedy that tracks a group of provincial actors crossing the sea for the first time. Tudor Giurgiu and Bogdan Crăciun are producing through Libra Film.
Budgeted at 550,000 EUR, the project won a production grant of 168,269 EUR (700,000 RON) from the National Centre for Cinema in 2011. Liviu Mărghidan (California Dreamin' (endless)) is DoP.
America's cast includes Mihai Călin, Adrian Văncică, Gheorghe Ifrim, Ioana Blaj, Ion Sapdaru, Tania Popa, Alexandru Bindea, Oana Ioachim and Croatian actress Mira Furlan.
The premiere is due in summer 2014, with Transilvania Film as local distributor.
