After winning the Golden Bear in Berlin 2013, the film was sold by the German company Beta Cinema in almost all the territories, producer Ada Solomon told FNE.

Beta Cinema announced that STUDIOCANAL will release the film in the UK on 1 November 2013, with a pre-release premiere at the London Film Festival on 10 October. Beta Cinema said it was one of the most widely received Romanian films of all times.

Child's Pose/Poziţia copilului was produced by Solomon and Netzer through Parada Film in coproduction with Romanian company Hai-Hui Entertainment. It is the Romanian entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards.

Netzer's family drama launched domestically on 8 March 2013 and became the most successful Romanian film in over a decade, with 116,295 admissions in 30 weeks.
