By

BUCHAREST: A report released by Zenith Optimedia forecasts that the Romanian ad market will drop 3.6 percent before finally recovering in 2014.

The report says that TV investments will also drop 3 percent in Romania compared to 2012.

Only the internet advertising will grow, with 12 percent increase predicted in 2013 thanks to the performance media segment. The global ad market will grow by 3.5 percent in 2013 compared to 2012 and it will continue growing with 5.1 percent in 2014 and with 5.9 percent in 2015.

The advertising market throughout most of CEE experienced continued decline in 2012, but is predicted to grow by 7 percent in 2013, according to a Magna Global report, led primarily by strong growth in Russia and Turkey, rather than in Central Europe. Weak advertising sales were behind the freefall of leading CEE TV group Central European Media Enterprises which fell from 38 USD per share in late 2009 to 2.65 USD per share in May 2013. Poland, the largest advertising market in the region, is expected to stagnate, according to Magna Global.
