PRODUCTION: Youtube Bazaar in Postproduction

By

BUCHAREST: Independent filmmaker Dan Chişu is in the color correction and sound editing stage with a 110 minute documentary investigating the fascination with social media through the story of Bahoi, an unusual character who created the TV station on Youtube, Bahoi TV.

“Nowadays anyone can create his own media channel and the fact that Bahoi works in Holland so he could afford to buy old computers and send them in his home village next to Constanta, in order for his people to watch his productions, I find it phenomenal”, Chişu said.

He is producing through DaKino Productions in coproduction with Diud Film and has scriptwriting credits while sharing the photography credits with Andrei Gheorghe and Boroka Biro. Shooting took approximately three years. The budget is 120,000 EUR so far, with 25,000 EUR still to be covered for postproduction and distribution.

No grants were used and sales agents are expected to come on board. The premiere is set for autumn 2014.

Dan Chişu is also working on sound design for the feature Bucharest Non-stop shot last summer. The director told FNE that he is trying to find money in order to do the sound in France or Hungary.
