The film is the most popular domestic movie of the year, with 61,000 admissions including 12,648 in the opening weekend. This youth comedy produced by MediaPro Entertainment opened in cinemas on 9 May 2014.

The story follows three girls who are running from Bucharest to the seaside three days before their final exams in highschool. They meet there three boys who make money as thiefs. In an attempt to reach a more mature audience the film also follows the parents of the girls (played by popular actors) who arrive to take them home. The cast includes several pop singers and TV stars in cameo roles. Some of the non-professional actors were found on Facebook.

The film is a coproduction between MediaPro Entertainment Romania and ZAZU Film.

Crina Semciuc, Olimpia Melinte and Flavia Hojda play the three young students. The cast includes Vlad Logigan, Levent Sali, Alexandru Călin, Răzvan Vasilescu. Viorel Sergovici (Aurora) is the DoP.

#Selfie was shot with a budget of 900,000 EUR at 12 locations in 2013. It was distributed by Zazu Film and MediaPro Distribution in 34 cinemas (mostly multiplexes) in 20 towns.
