CLUJ-NAPOCA: Awarded Un Certain Talent in Cannes on 23 May 2015, the acclaimed writer/director Corneliu Porumboiu will screen The Treasure/Comoara in the Romanian Days at Transilvania IFF (29 May-7 June 2015).

Porumboiu returns to the dark humor of his debut feature 12:08 East of Bucharest/A fost sau n-a fost? produced by 42Km Film (kmfilm.com) in 2006 with the story of two young men looking for a lost treasure. Their adventures are always put in the perspective of contemporary Romania where, as the director says in the production notes, people are „projecting far too much on the children, hoping they’ll do better than their parents”.

The main characters are played by Toma Cuzin, Adrian Purcărescu and Cornel Cozmei. Tudor Mircea is the DoP. Marcela Ursu is producing through Romania's 42 Km Film in coproduction with France's Les Films de Worso and Rouge International. The project wass supported by the Romanian National Film Center, HBO Romania and Arte France.

The Treasure was sold by Wild Bunch in Croatia, Hungary, Israel, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey prior to Cannes and will be released in Romania by 42 Km Film on 29 May 2015.
