BUCHAREST: A Norwegian Christmas Story / Snekker Andresen og Julenissen (working title) by Terje Ragnes shot ninety percent of the film with Bucharest-based Seven Film providing services. The premiere is set for Christmas 2016.

According to Rodica Popa, owner of Seven Film, the production spent 761,000 EUR in Romania.

The film followed the working relationship the Norwegian production company Fantefilm Fiksjon established with Seven Film when they shot The Wave / Bølgen for 26 days at the MediaPro Studios in May and June 2014. The disaster movie The Wave became the Norwegian entry for the Oscars 2016.

A Norwegian Christmas Story is a children and family movie adapting the bestseller Snekker Andersen by Alf Prøysen. The script written by John Kåre Raake focuses on a carpenter who makes a deal with Santa Claus in order to give his family the perfect Christmas.

The main characters are played by Trond Espen Seim, Anders Baasmo Christiansen and Ingeborg Sundrehagen Raustøl. Philip Remi Øgaardis the DoP. Shooting took place at MediaPro Studios in June 2015.
